Final Paper Topic
I'd like to focus my final paper on "Dr. Strangelove," if only because I had such fun writing the blog entry but I feel like there's more I can say. I can approach it simply as the dark comedy that it is and why it is that way, or I can discuss the sexual aspect in much more thought. As soon as I finish the Brazil paper this week, I'll have more of an idea what exactly I want to say in this final paper (fingers crossed, anyway)

You can do this, as long as you have some things to say about the role of science and technology in the film, and perhaps more importantly, people's attitudes toward it (including the author's and director's) that come through in the film. When you get a clearer idea of the focus (after your Brazil paper ;-)) let me know.
Interesting that you mentioned the Air Force in your response to my Strangelove entry, because I have a box set of Mystery Science Theater episodes where one film was made with the cooperation of the US Air Force...and it's so bad even the show's resident goofballs are at a loss to describe it. I might be able to use that in my paper (It's called "The Starfighters," and it's ninety minutes of pure Air Force boredom circa 1964, when Strangelove came out)
