ender's game was real!

wow. that was... hmm im going to need a couple more minutes to think about this.

ok. so ender was playing for real?! I guess they really didn't care about his mental state after the war was over. i found it clever that the humans used their enemies technology to train themselves to fight. But then in the end, it was really the same technology that could have brought peace to the two species. If only there was a way for Ender to know that. But then, I'm not sure that he would have tried to make piece after being trained all those years for war.

The mind game was really interesting. The game knew a lot about Ender and yet, no human interfered or wrote the program. It was working and running in real time with out predictable solutions. That would be one awesome computer. Gaming (in today's world) would be on a whole different level of reality. Which is what this book is about, the difference between the game and reality. Today the army is using gaming to recruit soldiers. Simulators are used to train soldiers how to use machinery that will, in reality, hurt lots of people. There are many similarities between this book and reality.

I don't understand what the reason behind using kids to fight the war. Was there a reason? It seemed like the children were really smart and started great things, but the adults were still their teachers. I might be looking into this one a bit too far.

Another important part, I think was when he realized that Earth didn't seem right, that school was where be belonged. I think that helped him move on and travel with his sister to the other worlds which helped him to realize about the species he killed off. It was really interesting to see that through out the book the buggers seemed like merciless creatures, but then in the end, they were the victims. The entire misunderstanding was hinted at before Ender went to commander school, but it was still a surprise to me.

good book. : )
