Weekly Question #3

Our current relationship with technology is definitely driving us towards war. Using technology for research and such put people at odds with the misuse of science as Pastor Dan talks about. Technology opens many doors to war. As Mark Sumner talks about, technology has made possible many things and therefore has caused us (wealthy countries) to be “addicted” to oil. Oil fuels our economy and all of our economy’s technological perks. As we use up the oil and the prices rise, we can bet on more wars over oil. Sumner blatantly says “Cheap energy is going to end. Soon.” Americans are used to luxury and they will not give it up peacefully. It will be a never-ending war until there is nothing left. I really don’t think everyone is going to change the way they live and lose their luxuries just to fight for the betterment of our environment. Instead, they will go to war to fight for the way they live and the luxuries.
