Ender's Game

What an amazing book!  I was hooked from the beginning.  Science and technology definitely relate to this book.  Firstly, the science of 3 genius children is startling.  And the fact that Ender's parents were allowed to have a "Third" because their first child, Peter, was too violent, and the second child, Valentine, was too passive.  This would suggest some sort of gene manipulation, or DNA-mapping, or genetic advancement where genius was engineered.

Another interesting story line was the use of a game to defeat the "buggers".  The idea that the military would use a genius playing a game to command an army, is almost beyond conception.  What was also startling was that the children were put in game consoles to command an army light years away.

This book was an amazing compilation of scientific feat after scientific feat, and I think I will continue on and read the successive installments.
