How do we know if we got any extra credit points? I posted mine back on the 21st, but I don't see it listed in the grade book on black board... Thanks.
I got several questions about the extra credit via email, and was away from my grading notes, so I didn't want to respond before checking them, but now I've returned.
What happened in most cases was people didn't do the first part of what I asked for--that you devise a creative way to explain exactly how many people we have and how many are being added. If you didn't do that important step, no points were awarded. That step--helping people understand the problem--is critical in getting people to take action, and since our course has been all about writers getting their points across, it was a necessary component to the extra credit assignment. I am sorry for any confusion or disappointment and hope you all have a wonderful summer.
Well, the syllabus didn't say that we had to explain it "creatively" only that we had to explain it in a way that could be clearly understood by our peers. I really hope that you make that clearer in your next class if you choose to use the same extra credit assignment.
